Jason Suttmeier is an artist of great DJ skills who enjoys spinning quality vocal dance music. As a Long Island, New York local, DJ Jayito has been mixing tapes and CDs since 1991. Growing up in a music-oriented environment, Jason’s initial inspirations came from his father, who was a party DJ and gifted his cherished technique 1200s to his son, and his brother, who hosted a college radio show geared towards the hip-hop community at Fairfield University. DJ Jayito made his DJ debut when he was a guest appearance on his brother's radio show in 1992. His greatest influences included David Morales, Frankie Knuckles, Glenn Friscia, Hex Hector and Mike Cruz.  A special thanks to my mentors DJ Donnie, DJ Spyder and especially DJ Twisted Dee.

DJ Jayito has been involved in the Long Island music scene since 1998. After becoming the winner of WKTU 103.5 FM Mix Tape Contest in 1997 (Their 4th of July Mix Explosion Weekend), “Little Jay” was prized a promising 2-hour guest DJ spot for the event. His mixed set aired during the height of holiday rush hour traffic on Thursday, July 3, 1997 from 4-6 PM. Inspired by the positive feedback and praise he received from peers in the DJ industry, Jason search and landed his first residency at "Dragon" in Long Island in 1998. He experienced tremendous success and was praised by the club owner and the customers. After his rein at Dragon, Jayito has been resident at the following Long Island venues: Thunders, Sutra, Fornica, City Fridays, Deliverance, Eclipse, The Greens, and Velvet. Jason has also made several special guest DJ appearances in New York City and Fire Island.

DJ Jayito’s unique musical style and visualization brings him loyal fans from Long Island, all over the country and even across the oceans. Club owners and music professionals often find him well-polished, on top of his music, easy going and down-to-earth. Devoted to his fans, he brings his energy and talent to the dance floor. His mix are always refreshing, ecstatic, and versatile. It is not uncommon to see fans packed on the dance floor, unwilling to leave till closing time, not even to use a much needed restroom. On a dance floor under Jayito's control, you can definitely feel the energy.
